TYPE-XIII Atelier Oï project “O Series”
Frequently Asked Questions
Charging and Power
・Check the specifications of the AC adapter:
This product requires an AC adapter compatible with the high-output "USB PD (Power Delivery)" standard. Please use an AC adapter labeled as "30W or higher" and "Output: 15V/2A or higher." If you use an AC adapter with an output lower than 15V, charging may not start even when connected, or it may not charge properly.
・Make sure you are using the included USB cable:
Be sure to use the dedicated USB cable (Type-C to Type-C) included with this product. Unplug everything, then reconnect it after ensuring the cable is fully inserted.
・Precautions when using third-party cables:
If you are using a commercially available USB cable, be sure to select one that supports USB PD 30W or higher (DC 15V/2A or higher). Using a cable that does not support PD may not only prevent charging but could also cause malfunction or excessive heat generation.
This product requires a power supply capable of USB PD 30W (15V/2A) or higher for charging.
If you use an AC adapter with an output below 15V, the charging indicator light may remain on, but charging may not actually be completed.
・Important note
Continuing to use an AC adapter that does not meet the specifications may not only prevent proper charging but may also place a strain on the internal circuit board, potentially causing malfunctions or abnormal overheating.
・Solution
Stop using the product immediately and switch to an AC adapter with USB PD 30W (15V/2A) or higher output and the included USB cable.
This product requires a power supply capable of USB PD 30W or higher (15V/2A or higher) for charging.
If you use an AC adapter with an output of less than 15V, the charging indicator light may not turn on. There may also be cases where the indicator light turns on but the device does not charge properly.
*If the issue persists after checking the above, the battery may be at the end of its life or there may be an internal malfunction. Please contact the store where you purchased the product.
Compatibility requirements
・USB PD (Power Delivery) compatible
・Must be rated at 30W or higher (15V/2A or higher)
Examples of incompatible adapters
・AC adapters with an output voltage below 15V
・AC adapters that do not support USB PD
*Please refrain from using AC adapters that do not meet these specifications, as the device may not charge properly even if the charging indicator light is on.
Operation and Functionality
・Check the main switch:
Please check that the power switch on the bottom of the unit is slid to the "ON" position. The dimming touch sensor will not work if the power switch is in the "OFF" position.
・Check how you operate the lamp (touch with the ball of your finger):
Press firmly against the touch sensor with the entire ball of your finger. To ensure reliable operation of the touch sensor, it is important to apply pressure with a wide surface area of your finger. If you touch it lightly (with just the tip of your finger), operation may become unstable.
・Check the battery level:
The light will not turn on if the battery is low. Please recharge the battery until the charging indicator light automatically turns off, indicating a full charge, and then try again.
Maintenance and Lifespan
・Lampshade:
If dirty, gently hand-wash in water no hotter than 30°C, reshape it along the pleats, and let it air dry naturally in a well-ventilated, shaded area. Please note that repeated washing may alter the texture of the fabric.
・Main body:
Wipe with a damp, soft, lint-free cloth or a cotton swab.
・Silicone base sheet (around the terminals):
Wipe with a damp, soft, lint-free cloth.
・Inside the USB connector:
Use an air blower to remove dust. Be careful not to allow moisture to get inside, as this may cause malfunction.
・Precautions
Never use spray-type liquid cleaners, solvents such as benzine or thinner, or abrasives. Doing so may scratch the surface, cause loss of gloss, or peel off the surface finish.
・Usage environment (low temperatures):
Due to the nature of lithium-ion batteries, continuous lighting time may not meet specifications when used in low-temperature environments such as outdoors in winter or near windows; this is not a malfunction.
・Battery degradation:
Battery performance will gradually decline after approximately 500 charge-discharge cycles (roughly 1.5 years if charged once a day). If the product has been in use for over a year and the lighting duration is consistently short, the internal battery may have reached the end of its lifespan.
*If you wish to replace the battery, please contact the store where you purchased the product.
・Estimated lifespan:
After approximately 500 charge-discharge cycles, the performance of a lithium-ion battery will decline to about 50% of its initial capacity.
・Usage environment (low temperatures):
In low-temperature environments, the continuous operating time (the time the light remains on without turning off) may not meet the specifications, but this is not a malfunction.
・Precautions for long-term storage:
Please set the power switch on the unit to "OFF".
・Definition of “lifespan”:
The "lifespan of the LED" is defined as the point at which brightness has decreased to approximately 70% of its original level, which is generally considered to be around 40,000 hours.
* If you wish to replace the LED, please contact the store where you purchased the product.
